Just a day before I was wondering about the fate of Apple iPAD, it’s utility. With the quoted price. One could easily afford a notebook or net book. Then why should one go for it?? Is is just the strong well known apple brand backing it..or beyond it ? It's a very cool thing, for sure, but not something that really fulfills a computing need for many people. http://www.apple.com/ipad/specs/  to check its specs.

Apple announced this morning that they had sold over 300,000 iPads on the first day. The sales included deliveries of pre-ordered iPads as well as direct sales at apple Retail Stores. Apple also announced that over one million apps from Apple's App Store and 250,000 ebooks from the iBookstore were downloaded. It's telling that the cheapest version sold the best -- people just wanted to have an iPad.

At this point the iPad is nothing more than a toy. When it actually does become a viable laptop replacement, then maybe it will win over those of us that don't just robotically buy everything that Steve poops out.
